“Les choses à plat” at the “Chez Nous Marquant” Festival

Woman’s Move is happy to be invited to the “Chez Nous Marquant” festival, organized by the Théâtre de l’Échappée in Laval, France.

We’ll perform the solo “Les Choses à Plat” this September 4th.

“Les Choses à Plat” is a recreation of the solo "To Make Myself Clear" (represented for the 2012 Quarts D’Heure at the Théâtre de Sevelin).

It is an ironic depiction of the impossible expectations of a society that asks us to go ever faster, to be constantly reachable, motivated and cheerful, while making communication with those who lead us more and more difficult. Guided by a voiceover in a precise and rhythmic audio montage, the dancer struggles between her desire to resist and her feeling of helplessness… How to fight back when you don’t even know who you’re talking to ?
